Wool and the Gang launches recycled cashmere yarn and crafty kits

By Emily Peagram 21 Oct 2021

Sustainable British fashion brand, Wool and the Gang, launches cashmere with an eco conscience – its 100% recycled ‘Back For Good’ cashmere yarn, which comes in Midnight Blue, Tweed Grey, Eucalyptus Green, Taupe Brown, Biscotti Beige and Blush Pink.

There are two ways in which luxurious cashmere is typically wasted – garments that just get thrown away or items that never actually make it to market. Working with a prestigious Italian mill that also prides itself on sustainable practices, Wool and the Gang is turning cashmere ‘waste’ into much-wanted wares. The result is a 97% recycled cashmere yarn with the final 3% of the composition being recycled wool to account for any cross-contamination of the mill’s other yarn. To achieve each colour as sustainably as possible, the virgin cashmere pieces are sorted by hand into colour groups so that they don’t need further dyeing.

To complement the launch, Wool and the Gang is also now offering six new ‘Back For Good’ signature knit kits comprising pattern, recycled cashmere yarn and sustainably sourced wooden needles. The collection consists of two hats, two scarves, a pair of mittens and a crew neck tank, encompassing three skill levels so there’s something for every maker.

Prices start at £22 for yarn and £54 for kits. For further info visit
