Paper florist blossoms at business awards ceremony

Paper florist ArloArts won the Best New Business Award at the SME Luton & Bedfordshire Business Awards 2019, hosted at the Bedford Corn Exchange.
The award is the culmination of a successful first year in business, which has seen ArloArts grow from a home-based business to opening a dedicated shop in The Arcade in Bedford town centre.
The SME Best New Business Award is focused on businesses established within the last two years that demonstrate a high degree of entrepreneurship and vision for the future. Winning the regional award puts ArloArts directly into prestigious national finals, to be held at Wembley Stadium in December.
Joanne Bird judged the Best New Business category on behalf of award sponsors and recruitment experts Allen Day. Joanne commented: “ArloArts stood out as something I’ve never seen before. It’s a unique business offering something different. I’m delighted to see a fresh new independent business doing so well, and I wish ArloArts every success for the future.”
On receiving the award, ArloArts owner Arlene Rust said: “I’m absolutely flabbergasted, amazed, so excited and proud. Independent businesses like mine are helping buck the trend in High Street decline, so it’s fantastic to be recognised for doing so by the SME Awards.”
ArloArts is a paper florist specialising in creating bespoke handcrafted paper flowers and displays. As well as paper flowers, ArloArts also provides paper flower making workshops for the public and stocks a wide range of specialist craft supplies and gifts.
