Instagram Launches New Sticker To Support Small Businesses
By Emily Peagram 13 May 2020
With the impact of the COVID-19 crisis, small businesses and bricks and mortar stores are all facing huge challenges to stay afloat. Supporting them is a top priority and social platform Instagram is doing its bit to help by launching a new ‘Support small business’ sticker.
In an announcement from the 11th May, they say: “Supporting them is critical to the wellbeing of entrepreneurs, our communities and the economy. We’re announcing new ways for people to discover and support small business, along with more tools for keeping businesses informed. With the new ‘Support small business’ sticker on Instagram, people can easily show their love for businesses in Stories. They can mention businesses directly in the sticker to give their followers a preview of the account. When people use the sticker, their story will be added to a shared Instagram story, so their followers can see it along with other businesses that people they follow are supporting.”
So how does it work?
This sticker can help businesses reach new customers and stay connected to their followers. If your business is mentioned using the sticker, you can repost the content to your stories or message users who tag you. Businesses can also use the sticker to shout out other entrepreneurs in their community.
If you have a business profile on Instagram, you’ll see a ‘Business Resources’ section at the top of your profile, this will help you to stay informed about the latest tools and resources that can help during this time.
