HOCHANDA TV Channel Announces Presenters

By Melissa Hyland 25 Aug 2015

New TV craft channel, HOCHANDA, which debuted at midday on Thursday, August 27, 2015, announced the line-up of presenters for the launch.

All of the presenters and guest presenters have been recruited for their shared passion and enthusiasm for crafts or hobbies, and HOCHANDA promises that these fresh faces will bring new ideas and skills to the channel.

Presenter, Alex Turchyn has always been passionate about arts and crafts. Inspired by her grandfather who was a sculptor and her mother who is a keen painter, Alex has painted for enjoyment for years as well as being commissioned for several pieces of artwork. She loves turning her creative hand to card and dressmaking as well as being a keen cross stitcher. Alex has worked as a TV presenter and actress since graduating from the Guildford School of Acting in 2000.

Matt MacNamara will be joining the team with a wealth of experience. Matt has been in TV presenting and production for most of his working life and has always had a passion for crafting. Whilst he admits to not being the most skilled crafter, he has always had a quiet respect for crafters’ skills, imagination and creativity, and is keen to compare notes on ideas and techniques. Matt’s favourite forms of craft are decoupage and card making.

Completing the launch line-up is friendly and charismatic presenter, Lee Clark who has worked across a broad mix of digital and terrestrial TV and film. Prior to developing a career as a TV presenter, Lee was a successful model and was the face of Calvin Klein for three years.

In addition, award winning professional crafter Barbara Gray will be also joining the channel as a guest presenter, making her HOCHANDA screen debut during the launch show. Barbara, who has been a familiar face on craft TV for the last seven years, will be bringing her brand, Claritystamp, to the new channel as well as leading interactive craft workshops.

Barbara said: “Inspiring, motivating and teaching viewers are key ingredients of a successful craft channel and HOCHANDA has offered Clarity an amazing platform to do all three. Clarity has been exploring the therapeutic and relaxing power of mixing mindfulness with crafting. Clarity and HOCHANDA have embraced this exciting opportunity and invited me to expand on it. Also, the opportunity to broadcast in Germany is fantastic – it’s a market I already know well. These are exciting times for all of us.”
