Hobbycraft has promoted Dominic Jordan, its Retail Operations Director, to the post of Chief Executive with immediate effect.
Dominic, who joined Hobbycraft in 2012, worked previously at Pets at Home for 12 years, latterly as Retail Operations Director.
He said: “I am excited to become Hobbycraft’s CEO to lead a business that I know to have such an exceptional team and incredible range of products. I look forward to working with them to drive further growth and build our customer experience in-store or online.”
Dominic succeeds John Colley who left the business last year.
The Board of Hobbycraft also confirmed the appointment of Matt Davies as Chairman from May 1, 2018. Matt succeeds Archie Norman who is leaving after over four years in the role having played a key part in the transformation of the business.
Norman said: “Matt is a highly regarded and successful retailer who has worked with some of the UK’s best known retail brands. I wish him every success and know that he and Dominic will have a great impact on the continuing future growth of the business with the benefit of the major operational programme we have just completed.”
Hobbycraft Chairman designate Matt Davies said: “This is a unique business that I have followed for many years. I look forward to working with Dominic again and to working with the team to build on its success to make Hobbycraft an even greater place for crafters and enthusiasts alike.”

Matt was CEO of Halfords from 2012 to 2015 and CEO of Pets at Home from 2004 to 2012. He is also chairman designate of N Brown plc, the online, specialist fit, fashion retailer.
