Create and Craft partner with Mind for 2019 Summer Crafternoon

By Mark Hayhurst 20 Jun 2019

Create and Craft are to partner with mental health charity, Mind, to support the 2019 Summer Crafternoon.

Crafternoon is the biggest craft-based mental health fundraiser in England and Wales, conceived and organised by mental health charity, Mind. Supporters are encouraged to organise their own Crafternoon at work, school or at home by inviting family and friends to enjoy a fun craft-themed event whilst raising money for Mind.

This year’s Summer Crafternoon will be held on Saturday, July 20, following an eight week, multi-channel recruitment campaign to be implemented by Mind and Create and Craft.

Karen Bolton, head of community and events fundraising at Mind, said: “We’re hugely grateful for the continued support of Create and Craft - a company which understands the positive power of craft. We look forward to working with them to raise awareness of Mind’s Crafternoon throughout the UK.

“One in four people in the UK will experience a mental health problem in any given year and Crafternoon is a fantastic way to raise funds in support of those of us affected. Whether you’re a knitting novice or a crochet queen, money raised through your Crafternoon will help Mind to provide life-saving services and information for people in their time of need. ”

Claire Astbury, marketing manager at Create and Craft, said: “We are, once again, honoured to be working alongside Mind to support their Crafternoon initiative. Crafternoon is a fantastic way to fund raise for such a worthy cause and everyone at Create and Craft is delighted to be a part of growing the campaign for a second year.

“Craft is at the heart of what we do, and as a retailer we recognise and understand how craft supports the wellbeing of our customers. We speak to hundreds of thousands of craft lovers across multiple touch-points every day and it is a real privilege to be able to work collaboratively with Mind to drive awareness of such an important campaign.”
