Crafter’s Companion Chesterfield Appoints Management Team

By Sarah Jane 16 Aug 2016

Global craft supplies company, Crafter's Companion has appointed Sarah Jane Elliott and Gurvinder Barn to head up operations and drive the launch of its new 5,500 sq ft Chesterfield store, set to open in September.

Sarah, who will be taking the role of assistant manage, has been a crafter all her life and set up her own haberdashery and bespoke wedding products business five years’ ago.

Sarah is hoping that her wealth of craft experience combined with her retail experience, gained during her time at The Works, will inspire the store team and its customers and help to ensure the store is a success.

Sarah said: “I’m delighted to be joining the Crafter’s Companion team. The brand is such a household name in the crafting world so it’s great to see them come to Chesterfield.”

Sarah will be working alongside Gurvinder Barn, who will be taking on the role of store manager at the new outlet.

With over 23 years’ experience in retail management, Gurvinder, has previously worked for major household brands including Nike and Office and brings a wealth of retail management experience to the role.

The store, which is the result of a partnership between the brand and Dobbies Chesterfield Garden Centre and Shopping Village, follows the opening of the company’s first UK outlet in May and represents a further £250,000 investment.

Sara Davies, founder of Crafter’s Companion, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Sarah and Guv to our family. We’re sure that Sarah and our new store manager, Guv, will be able to make this new store as successful as our last one.”

“Dobbies is a great brand and renowned for providing quality products to loyal customers. Naturally we are thrilled to be partnering with them on this project and hope that it’s the start of a great relationship,” said Sara.
