Charity Crafternoon and Quiltalong in aid of Mind a success

By Mark Hayhurst 05 Dec 2018

Two charity events hosted by Create and Craft, in a aid of Mind, were a great success.

Launched on December 1, The Crafternoon and Quiltalong were get togethers with a difference, bringing the crafting community together, all for a very important cause.

The Crafternoon was enjoyed by many, Laura Powell, Create and Craft’s Marketing Communications Manager, found the afternoon very enjoyable.

She said: “It was fantastic to spend the afternoon crafting with colleagues and learning new skills. I was able to practice my card making in time for Christmas and it was lovely to hear all the involvement from our customers. It was a perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon, all for an incredible charity.”

Fun for all the family – younger crafters had fun too! Emma McGregor; Creative Developer, brought her son and daughter along to the Crafternoon. Emma said: “They had a great time making Christmas cards for their friends at school, my daughter was even inspired to continue her crafting at home! I would definitely attend another, I found it very therapeutic.”

The Quiltalong in aid of Mind was also a success. Everyone involved was overwhelmed by the response and support from customers. Hannah Sabbatini, Assistant Producer for the Quiltalong, enjoyed being involved with the crafting community getting together to make a difference. She said: “Hearing everyone’s stories on how crafting has been a huge part of their lives was very heart-warming and I was proud to be a part of the event.”

The live gallery received over 400 e-mails overnight from customers getting involved.

Create and Craft thanked everyone involved in the organisation and participation of both the Crafternoon and the Quiltalong and encouraged people to continue to donate to Mind.
