Apply Now For the Homemaker Art & Craft Book Awards!

By Sarah Jane 17 Aug 2016

This year, Homemaker magazine is launching the Art & Craft Book Awards. Comprised of 20 categories, it’s an opportunity for the magazine to honour a variety of wonderful books that have been adored by the creative nation in the past 12 months. For each category there will be both a Winner and Highly Commended book, voted for by a prestigious judging panel and the magazine’s dedicated readers.

This year’s judges will be: Chalk paint expert, Annie Sloan; fashion designer, Wayne Hemingway MBE; Great British Sewing Bee Contestant, Jenniffer Taylor; head designer at Liberty Fabrics, Polly Mason and Homemaker editor, Rosie Savage.

Rosie Savage said: “We are thrilled to be launching these awards. We are lucky enough to pore over craft books every day, so to be able to celebrate our favourite reads is really exciting.”

In addition to the expert judging panel, leading brands Lutterloh System International, Janome and Manor House Hotel will be supporting the awards with their sponsorship.

Deborah Shepherd, creative director at Janome said: “Janome are delighted to sponsor the 2017 Homemaker magazine Book Awards. Our industry supports creative enterprise and we are fortunate to have so many talented and creative people who are willing to share their knowledge for future generations in this way.”

Publishers need to submit books for nomination by Monday 22nd August. These titles must have been published between September 2015 and September 2016, and need to have an ISBN. Email with the subject title ‘Book Awards Nominations’ with your selection, which can cover as many categories as you like. Homemaker will let you know if your titles have made the shortlist, when they will need to see hard copies of each title so the judges can cast their votes.
