The Quilters’ Guild announces BA Bursary shortlist for The Festival of Quilts

The Quilters’ Guild has selected five of the UK’s leading textile graduates to showcase cutting edge textile art and design at The Festival of Quilts.
Students shortlisted for this year’s BA Bursary Graduate Showcase are Sumandip Dhesi and Ciara Hamilton from Arts University Bournemouth, Chloe Scott from Norwich University of Arts, Emma Roberts from Edinburgh College of Art and Grace L Dickerson from University of Creative Arts, Farnham. The students are studying Textiles, Textile and Fashion Mixed Media and Textiles for Fashion and Interiors.
The Guild’s judging panel will announce the winner of the BA Student Bursary - a £1,000 prize enabling the winning student to further their studies or career - at the Festival. Last year’s winner was Lily Goulding from Arts University Bournemouth. Lily will be showing work from the past year at this year’s Festival.
The Festival of Quilts is the leading patchwork and quilting event in Europe and takes place at the NEC Birmingham from August 10-13.
It attracts tens of thousands of visitors from all over the world and features over 1,000 quilts including 700 competition quilts, professionally curated quilt galleries by leading textile artists and groups, hundreds of workshops (in association with Groves), a programme of talks and discussions, social events and over 300 exhibitors selling essential supplies.
