Colley resigns as Hobbycraft CEO

By Mark Hayhurst 13 Sep 2017

John Colley has left his role as Hobbycraft CEO after only two months in charge.

He joined the arts and craft superstore retail chain back in June, after resigning as managing director of Majestic Wine’s retail division.

He took over from Catriona Marshall, however, eight weeks in the former B&Q and Screwfix executive stepped down citing it wasn’t the right fit for him.

A spokesperson from Hobbycraft said: “After a short period as CEO John Colley has decided to move on and he goes with our good wishes. The business continues to trade strongly ahead of last year and of budget, and has a strong management team in place.

“We will announce shortly who will assume leadership of the business. We remain very confident about the future.”
